You would never expect this during the pandemic, an absolute Seller's Market that leads to multiple offers, fewer days to sell, and sales price at or above asking price. Yet in order to get the top dollar, we still need to have the home ready. One main reason for the unprecedented buyer demand is the rising needs for more space and a home that is work-from-home and learn-from-home ready. Almost all the buyers I am working with right now are looking for more room. The open, spacious feel the buyer gets when stepping inside your home will leave a lasting first impression that can easily become an offer.
Here are tips to expand the room and don't worry, no hammer is required.
High ceiling makes a room feel large so does anything that draw the eye upward. Think about adding fixture/features that allow eyes to move vertically.
Use "transparent" pieces to allow us see through the space, couches/chairs with legs, glass coffee table which I absolutely adore, and a floating vanity adds room instantly to a small bathroom.

This is the floating vanity I am going to install in my bathroom.
White walls, yes, it does make the room look bigger and more airy. Most importantly, it is easier to paint over white, another secrete selling point.
Have you seen that couches are plopped in the middle of the room in a design magazine, instead of against wall? Because it can make the room feel less cramped.
Just like color white, more natural light and brightness can "add" more space as well.
Last but not least, if you can create a way to connect the outside scenery to the interior decoration and the view is not blocked, then your room can feel more expanded.
